An Idea

In 2006 Cosmopsis Books launched the Quarterly to provide a voice for new and existing authors. We're proud now to announce the second journal in a series that will long outlast the Paris Review and Granta. Sure, you can find those journals in most bookstores, but so too can you find Kraft Macaroni and Cheese in most supermarkets. You may have to hunt for us in specialty markets, but here we have individuality and rich flavor. It's a literary journal like Mom used to make, with high quality ingredients and a lot of love.

A strange coincidence—the name of a childhood friend—led me years ago to a brilliant, humorous, and expansive web site (now at 918 pages) created by Salem author William Michaelian. We began corresponding, trading ideas, book recommendations and fiction. When I sought work for C.B.'s first foray into publishing literature, I knew to tap Michaelian, whose site boasts literally hundreds of amazing poems. I am very proud of these two books and very grateful that my first experience working with an author was so pleasurable. We sincerely hope you enjoy these two books!
